Growth Mindset Part 1: What Is a Growth Mindset?

At the 2018 International Conference on ADHD, one of the keynote speakers (Eduardo Briceño) gave a presentation on growth mindsets. I was blown away by this talk and was inspired to write a four-part series of blog posts on the subject. This first post is simply defining what a growth mindset is.

Growth Mindset Defined

A growth mindset is the belief that one’s qualities and abilities are malleable. A person who views their current state in life as temporary and that they have the ability to learn more, get better at those things most important to them, and grow in a multitude of areas. Those with a growth mindset are always seeking to learn and improve.
