A New Era for Reset ADHD
Like Taylor Swift, businesses have eras, and Reset ADHD is moving into a new era. This blog, the first in a long while, will be discussing this new era. I hope you read this blog in its entirety to learn where we are headed, but if reading is not your thing, we have also produced a video explaining our transition as well.
Reset ADHD Through the Years
I started Reset ADHD in July of 2018, a little over seven years ago. When I started it, I was blogging twice a week, trying to build an audience for when I began coaching people with ADHD. I began that journey later that year. Eventually, the blog tapered down to once a week, and now, I haven’t really blogged in a while. Moreover, over the past few years, I have been making content a bigger part of Reset ADHD. We now have two courses, a good number of videos on YouTube and various social media sites, and some digital products you can explore and purchase. In short, Reset ADHD has grown from just coaching and blogging to something more. Reset ADHD has had several eras, and now it is time for a new one.
What’s Next for Reset ADHD?
As I have been reflecting on what is next for my business and me, I have decided it is time to move Reset ADHD to “Side hustle status.” This means it will occupy a smaller part of my life, so I can focus on other pursuits.
Is Reset ADHD Going Away?
Nope! Everything you have come to know and love about Reset ADHD will be available for you. I am just making Reset ADHD a smaller part of my life.
Is Alex Going Away?
Yes and no. I am taking a step back to pursue other ventures. I have recently come to the conclusion that I don’t want to be a full-time anything. I want several part-time gigs. This will provide me with more variety to my days and will hopefully prevent me from becoming too engrossed with one thing or bored. I want a balanced life.
But What about All the Great ADHD Resources and Content?
That’s not going away. All the great content that has been put out by Reset ADHD will remain for your perusal, enjoyment, education, and growth. The courses and digital products do not need me to oversee them. They will remain available to anyone who wants to purchase them. Furthermore, the free content like emails and YouTube/social media videos will remain, and we will have some scheduled out for months after my marketing person moves on to other projects. You will not be abandoned by Reset ADHD.
But What about Coaching?
Coaching will still be available. However, I will be dedicating less time to it and will, therefore, be more selective about whom I take on as a client. I want to enjoy coaching when I do it, so I truly want a good fit for both me and my clients. I coach better when the client and I are a good fit and enjoy working together. The client also gets more out of it when we are a good fit. So, if you are looking for coaching, reach out. If we are not a good fit, I will help you find a coach that will be a better fit for you.
As far as my ideal client, I want someone like me. I want to coach an adult who has fun but puts in the work. It would be cool if my client was a person of faith, but that is not entirely necessary. I want to be able to connect with someone who shares some similar qualities to me. It is more about personality fit than anything. Generally speaking, I do not enjoy working with parents, so my client needs to be the client, not the client and their parents. Again, my available time for coaching will shrink, so I want high quality coaching clients.
What’s Next for Alex?
I am currently exploring my options. I have applied for a few part-time jobs here and there, but as of yet, nothing has materialized. I am writing more and am getting close on one book project. I am also enjoying designing my own crossword puzzles, so that could be a part of my professional future. Moreover, I recently secured a gig hosting trivia with Trivia Mafia. If you are in the Sioux Falls area and would like to play the world’s best bar trivia, come see me Tuesday nights at 7:30 at The Tavern Grill. The fun begins September 9, 2025. Keep an eye out for me in the world. I’ll still be going to ADHD conferences and have already registered for the conference in Kansas City. I hope to see you around.
Final Thoughts…
This is a bittersweet time for me. I have loved Reset ADHD, and when I started it back in July of 2018, I fully expected it to be my full-time thing until retirement. I feel a tad bit of sadness because of that. However, I feel it is time for something new, a new era in my life. Since making the decision to move Reset ADHD to side hustle status, I have felt a lot of freedom. I hope that you can find that freedom in your life as well. And remember: You don’t have to be a full-time anything. It could behoove the ADHD brain to have several part-time gigs. I’m excited for my future, and I still want what’s best for the ADHD community, especially you, dear reader.
