On the fence about ADHD coaching? Want to know more about what you might gain by doing coaching? Look no further! Here are 10 benefits that can be achieved through ADHD coaching:

1.) Getting Unstuck

The mongrel that is ADHD can cause some difficulties. Among them is feeling stuck, knowing you can do more but, for whatever reason, you cannot. Coaching can help get to the root of what is holding you back, and once you know what is causing you to be stuck, you can go on the offensive and get unstuck.

2.) Partnership

The mere fact that you have a coach means you are not alone. “Coaching shifts the ‘I’ to a ‘we,’” as my coach says. Instead of trying to manage ADHD on your own, you have someone who is willing to walk with you through this battle. You have a partner to help you manage your ADHD.

3.) Self-Knowledge

Through the coaching process, you learn more about yourself. You learn how you best operate. Knowing this will help you work with your brain, not against it.

4.) You Will Be Focused on Your Strengths

Instead of focusing on things in which you have no natural talent, you will be focusing on using your strengths. Doing those things in which you have natural talents will help you be more successful. Using strengths-based strategies will help you overcome your challenges.

5.) Confidence

Knowing how best you operate and focusing on your strengths will give you confidence. Operating under this approach will free you to go about life without fear. You will feel more likely to succeed.

6.) Positivity

Coaching does not dwell on the negatives. It is intended to move you forward. The best way to do that is to have a positive mindset. If I take you on as a client, it is because I believe you can succeed. We will look at the positive in you, what makes you strong. Both you and I will cultivate a positive attitude about you and your life.

7.) You Will Feel in Control

Sometimes, it can feel like the ADHD is in control and not you. However, by taking positive steps towards battle your ADHD, you take control of the situation. You will not feel like a prisoner of ADHD. Instead, you will feel like you have control.

8.) Direction

Instead of not taking a step forward because you do not know which way is forward, you will have a direction to go. I try to make sure my clients have something to do in between each coaching session. Sometimes. that thing is to think about a certain topic. Other times, it is a task to do. Whatever it is, the goal is to move forward. Granted, the speed at which you move forward will vary. However, moving only slightly forward is better than being stuck or moving backwards.

9.) Fun

I hate boredom, and I try to make life as playful as possible. With that in mind, I try to keep coaching sessions as fun as possible. If we do not enjoy talking to each other, then neither of us will want to keep doing it.

10.) Peace

The world of ADHD can be chaotic, but coaching can help calm the chaos. Yes, life will still be messy, but you will not be as anxious about it. You will have peace.
